Daily Schedule （Zao Kangan／Chinese）

Students are prohibited from working, but if you obtain a work permit from the Immigration Bureau, you will be permitted to work up to 28 hours per week (up to 8 hours per day during a long vacation). However, school rules prohibit students from getting a part-time job for the first month after entering school. A part-time job can of course lessen the burden of daily life expenses and help you make new acquaintances. For those students whose Japanese is at a low level, you can get a job delivering newspapers or washing dishes. For those students whose Japanese is at a higher level, you can get a job at a convenience store or restaurant.

The school staff will accompany you when needed and provide support registering for the following:

• Resident Registration
• National Health Insurance
• Bank Account
• Mobile Phone

At YMCA, in order to give students who do not have much time to speak Japanese a chance to speak with a Japanese person, there is a Japanese volunteer tutor program. It’s a good chance for students to practice their Japanese. For those students who wish to participate, once a week you can get a chance to speak natural Japanese with a Japanese person as well as learn Japanese culture.

At YMCA there is a scholarship system to help support education.

☆For current student    *Recipients will be selected after 6 months of enrollment.

• ○Amount：50,000 yen / student

Although there are no dormitories at Fukuoka ＹＭＣA, we can refer students to student dormitories and apartments.

Housing rules and procedures vary by facility. Also, some facilities may have student discounted expenses, so please inquire at YMCA for housing consultations and applications.
